PMU Tips (50)--1.The core purpose of a hairline and how to make ideal hairline position

1. The core purpose of a hairline is to enhance the face shape, frame the facial structure, and draw visual focus.

If the hairline is placed too high, it can lead to:

A lack of facial framing

Being barely noticeable on camera

An elongated face, making overall proportions look unbalanced

Thats why we always aim for a balanced placement:

Not too low: If the hairline sits too low (near the nose or frown line area), it can look unnatural and may cut offthe face, disrupting proportions

Not too high: It wont provide any framing effect. Especially for taller individuals, the hairline may not even be visible from otherseye level, leaving the face looking bald and lacking structure

You can think of it as two extremes:

Too low extending into the frown lines or facial muscle area (not ideal)

Too high almost no visual impact at all (also not ideal)

2.How to determine the ideal hairline position:

. The Four-Finger Rule

Place four fingers together, starting from the glabella (the bridge of the nose between the eyebrows), and measure upward.

Mark just above the fourth fingerthis usually gives a well-balanced hairline position.

. Observe Facial Muscles

Raise your eyebrows strongly. This will reveal the natural separation between the forehead muscles and the scalp, which can serve as a helpful guideline.

. Nose Proportion Method

Measure the distance from the base of the nostrils to the bridge of the nose.

Then apply that same measurement upward from the glabella. This point is typically slightly higher than the one from the four-finger rule.
