POPU Tips(19)--The pros and cons of microblading and why do my stroke keep disappearing

1.The pros and cons of microblading
Pros of Microblading:
Easy to control: Uses a manual blade tool, which is beginner-friendly and allows for easy stroke placement.
Quiet and calming: No machine noise or vibrations, making it less intimidating for clients and more stable for the artist during application.
Cons of Microblading:
Higher risk of skin damage: Though cuts are small, poorly trained artists can easily damage the skin, especially with repeated touch-ups.
Inconsistent pigment retention: Pigment may not settle evenly, and if there's bleeding, it becomes difficult to retain any ink.
Strokes can blur and thicken: Multiple passes to deposit pigment may cause strokes to heal thicker and blurrier, leading to less natural-looking results.
2. Why do my strokes keep disappearing?
Possible reasons for poor retention:
Client is not a good candidate: Microblading is not suitable for every skin type. Oily, sensitive skin or large pores often lead to blurry strokes or poor retention.
Improper color fill: Not sliding pigment through the entire stroke during the second pass, or creating “double strokes” next to the original stroke instead of reinforcing it. This causes blurring or no retention.
Depth/pressure too light: Not adjusting depth or pressure for the client’s skin thickness.
Pigment mask too short: The pigment mask should stay on for at least 15 minutes. Poor stretching before wiping or masking can also affect results.
Dull needles: Using needles that are not sharp enough can prevent proper pigment implantation.
Incomplete strokes: Not sliding pigment through the entire stroke can leave the end without pigment.
Poor skin stretching: Not stretching the skin properly during the procedure affects how the strokes heal.
