PMU Tips (49)-- How to minimize swelling and How to handle the bleeding during Nano application

1. How to minimize swelling
To truly minimize swelling, you must understand wound healing and how the body responds to lip tattooing. Without this foundation, it’s difficult to see why the following adjustments matter so much.
INCORRECT NEEDLE ANGLE
Your needle should enter the skin at a true 90-degree angle. This prevents dragging, minimizes trauma, and protects the delicate lip tissue.
UNEQUAL DEPTH
Consistency is key. Working too deep increases trauma and swelling. Since every client’s skin thickness is different, your depth should be adjusted accordingly—while remaining even throughout the procedure.
UNORGANIZED SHADING
Stay systematic. Jumping around causes unnecessary irritation. Work section by section and build your color gradually.
IMPROPER LIP STRETCHING
Stretch only enough to flatten the area you’re working on. This reduces discomfort and allows smoother, more controlled penetration.
2. How to handle the bleeding during Nano application
Bleeding rarely occurs during Nano application, but on the uncommon occasions it does, how do you handle it?
Solution 1:
Apply an additional numbing agent to help control the bleeding.
This allows you to return for a second pass and fill in any areas missed during the first session.
However… this method isn’t always foolproof, and bleeding may still happen, leading us to the next option.
Solution 2:
We advise clients to undergo microneedling treatments before their second appointment to improve skin quality.
This approach usually resolves the issue effectively!
